Hardware malfunction

Thankfully it's only problems for minor hardwares. I have to change my mouse and earphone once or twice every year. I think it must be overworked, as you can see I'm using the computer average 4~6 hours or more daily.

The problem I had with the mouse is the left-click button will be useless after a period of time. They say I pressed the mouse too hard most of the time and ended up like this. I think this make sense, even for anyone out there too. When playing game, you'll easily can excited and wanted to press the mouse button as hard as you can, isnt it?
The latest victim of the mouse is an old school roller ball mouse. Ironically, the mouse's cable was bitten by a real mouse, so it become completely useless straight away, no cure.

I've been using earphone for years, the speaker came with the computer set is causing some more issues over my computer because of it's high voltage usage. It consume too much energy compare to a earphone. Moreover, earphone delivers better sound quality and it wouldnt disturb anyone around.

The problem for earphone is that when time goes on, the stereo headphone will eventually become mono. I dunno what happened, but usually one side of the earphone will be dead, I had to set my audio settings to mono, which affect the sound quality greatly.

Thankfully, my sisters can help me to replace those 2 hardwares as they can get cheaper price there compare to here in Malaysia. Many people know that getting stuff in China is cheap.
The only drawback is I've to wait for them to come back to get those stuffs in hand, they come back twice a year though. I guess the next batch of "stock" will arrive in next January. Hmm....

Interesting figures

I just checked my Google Adsense resport. I've started to put on G Ads on my blog since last year, but didnt really bother bout the earnings or the ads placement. I just simply put it for fun.

Not until in May after I changed my blog's template and everything, I take G Ads seriously after that. Since the background is white, so ads placement are pretty simple and direct.

After I did some research on placing the ads properly, earnings started to flow in with convincing figures. I start G Ads on last year, and til 30th of June I earn around USD 6.50 only, but starting from July's monthly earnings I earn bout USD 10 and the following months I manage to score around USD 13 a month. I think I still need few months, say 4 months before I can reach the USD 100 mark and collect the cheque.

It's quite an interesting method to earn money through Internet, as what I've been trying to do for the past few years.

Numbered days

The principal's speech for today's assembly is short, but also sound that this might be the last assembly we'll have for those who're graduating soon. Wednesday, the final day official to be a part of the school, although we're still require to goto school after that for couples of days.

Hmm.... nowdays my daily routine is revise some exercises, chat with friends, read some other stuff and so on.

I felt numb bout the upcoming exam, it's just 2 weeks to go. Hopefully the exam comes quickly, and ended quickly.

15 Nov - 5 Dec, one of the biggest challenge in my life. After that, it's PLAYTIME!!

Beckham's possible new football boot?

If David Beckham will be call back into England's first 11 squad, he might be wearing this new boots, another Beckham special Adidas Predator Absolute.

However, this boots might not even be released by Adidas IF Beckham didnt get selected into England team anymore, because there's a #7 mark on the boot, so it's impossible for him to wear it in Real Madrid(Raul is #7, Becks is #23).

Last Holiday

Last holiday for me as a secondary school student. Less than 20 days to go I'll start my last exam.

Right, I suppose to revise everything I could to take on the exam, but then most of the time I'm sitting infront of computer doing "daily chores", check mail, blogging, read articles, etc. I dont really had any feeling bout the upcoming exam.

One of the reason is because at home I cant really concentrate study. Computer is such an attractive item that every single nerve cell in my body are attracted to it, unless there's some other factors are present.

Fooling around in Wikipedia is a nice thing to do to kill time, provided you're interested in reading lots of text, diagrams & graphics. Wpedia wont disappoint me when I'm searching for info I need, or some new knowledge to learn. I'd say Wpedia gives me 90% feedback of all my inquiries.

Meanwhile, watching video on YouTube also has been another daily routine. I've found many nice videos of artist like Yanni & Vangelis, both are contemporary instrumental music maestro origin from Greece, some of my favourite instrumental musician.

I still owe someone a review of the Yanni Live! DVD I recieved last month. I really enjoy the entire performance, really, but I guess I only have the time to complete the review after the exam, which is in Dec.

At the meantime, I still have to catch up with my National Service notification. I dunno I'll be chosen in which group, and also which camp. No matter where I'll be going, I hope there'll be some familiar faces going there along.
Although I can adapt to new environment pretty quickly, but it's always better to have someone you know also be with you, aint it?

A little critics

Next week I'll be collecting the final few pieces of certificate I deserve to get after attending 11 years of Malaysia education. The cert I'll be getting is the cert of graduation, one in Malay & one in Chinese.(weird, they didnt include English cert, or maybe they combine it in the Malay cert?)

The requirement for the cert is relatively low, really. Both cert requires at least 5 credits, including minimum credit(grade 6C) for both Malay & Chinese subject in the Sept trial exam, and at least 3 credits for other subjects as well. There's no penalty if you failed any subject, so students dont usually bothered bout that even they fail subjects.

To me, I felt the requirements are too lenient, too easy for anyone to reach that level. But unfortunately, many around me are yet to achieve that level. I cannot understand, after 11 years of education, they barely can reach the minimum level of the requirement? Oh sure, maybe they've failed many subjects, but they shouldnt fail in those critical subjects like BM.

I felt pity for them, but at the same time I'm starting to look down after them. C'mon! How hard is it to achieve this minimum level? I can understand this if you've problems with your studies all the time, but I cannot understand some who've tried but still unable to meet the requirements.

There's some chose to give up before they even tried. Unfortunately for my class, there's some of the best students of all F5 and there's the worst of the entire F5. There are 2 slugs in my class who're too tired all the time, and ended up sleep in the class like that's their bed. These 2 eventually didnt manage to get any of the cert. Many teachers tried to help them, but they just disappoint everyone with their slacker style.

I dunno what should I comment on friends around me that failed to get the cert. It's very sad that 5 of my classmates cant get the cert, which is important after leaving school, as a proof that you've been graduated from school after 11 years of education. But then, maybe it's too demanding for some people?

Hari Raya

Ystrdy is Hari Raya, the day for Muslims to celebrate, much like Chinese's New Year. I've been to my friend, Hilmi's house for a treat. I went to his house too last year.

This time Hilmi's house is crowded, lots of friends attend this Raya open house. They serve good food, and good entertainment too. I kept myself busy eating the nice food, playing nice game of Carrom & playing againts my friends with PS2.
Nice one, everyone really enjoy the good time over there. :D

Later in the evening, I followed my father to an annual dinner of his company at KLT restaurant Sri Petaling. Another great meal, lots of good food, from the "4 season platter" to the dessert, absolutely superb!

Things are going good for me, but the devil is getting closer and closer, it's just 3 weeks to go.... OMG!

The end for football boots

Just last week I mentioned my football boot's problem, now this time I've tear up another pair of my boot. Sigh....

Red boot worn out last week, blue boot is the latest casualty.

Both boots are torn up at the right boot, makes me feel irritating when playing the game, especially when I have to step into dirt water. I lost feel of the ball in the condition like that. Great, spoil football mood.

I still have another spare boot, but that's not for football, it is meant for street-walking. Now I dont have a proper boot to play football. :(

For now I'll probably stop playing football for 1 month or so, since I'm going to have my last exam soon. I'll probably get new boots by year end, or nxt year, depends on my budget. Maybe I wont get Adidas this time.... Puma & Umbro looks like a good alternative for it's quality and price.

Ambition

Ystrdy, Jushua the monitor asked all of us to fill in a name list with our ambitions. We've been filling this kind of stuff since we'rd Std 1(dated 10 yrs ago), and now this is our last time to do this.

Back in primary school, many students want to be either a doctor, police, or teacher because at their standard those are the only available options for them to write, and teachers can only came up with jobs like that if the students asked if there's any options.
Of course, kid says the darnest things, they can came up with some crazy things, like I remember one of my primary schoolmate wrote he wants to be superman, influenced by watching too much TV.
6 years filling in our ambition in primary school, the jobs are almost the same, not much changes.

Now in secondary school, we're able to think more wisely and realistic. Our thinking has become more mature, we choose the job we're most interested, as well as having the skills and advantages to excel in that job sector.

I take my time to read what's in my classmates' mind before writing down my choices. Some of them wanted to try medical sector, some opt to be a businessman, and some wanted to be a chef. I joke with those who're wanted to be chef, make sure they invite us to taste their food when they've succeed.

Me? Hmm.... it's hard for me to decide what I really want to do in the future, I often get stuck when thinking of this, but then I've now somehow made up my mind.
I want to be a researcher, specifically in humanity and sociology(planning for future studies), an IT technician(related to computer), and finally, maybe a music producer? Heh, I dunno, the last choice is just a playful act I do to fill in the last space. Well it might be possible, because I'm a big fan of music, so who knows? ;)

It is not easy to choose the job you want to do in the future, but it is not bad if you've made up your mind, to set a target what you want to achieve in the future.

Finale of school life

Wait, wait, I've stil have to attend school for few more days before I can officially get myself out of the school. Our convocation will be held on the 1st of Nov, 1/11/2006. Starting from this Friday we'll have 9 days of holiday to celebrate Hari Raya with Muslim friends in the country.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Maaf zahir batin~ :)
(I know it's stil early to wish 'em, but better than I forget bout it.)

So, after the trial exam results are settle, we basically dont have much things to do in the school.
Only 3 teachers stil continue teaching. Mdm Sik have to settle our last minute Add Math project; Mdm Chek asked us to find materials for possible essay question that could come out in SPM; Ms Siah teaching us from phrases and clauses(Im not so good in these).
The rest teachers, only come into the class and let us do things by our own.

Of course, we knew we dont have much time left to go. Most of us are doing revision in the classroom, but some enjoy chatting. Myself, I'll go chat with friends once I've done with my revision. Before this, I seldom got time to really interact with my classmates. I guess this is a good time to keep in touch with 'em, before the end is near.

SPM is getting closer and closer, I cant wait for it to come to an end soon!!

Football boots starting to eat grass

Weird title 'eh? Sigh.... today while playing the game, I notice that the right boot is starting to tearing itself apart. The part where I usually hit the ball is worn, making a hole in the boot.

Although it's still ok to continue playing under this condition, but I've lost the feel when kicking a ball. I've lost the touch of controling the ball too. Bad news.

This boot is just 1 year old, I got it last October, now I've to replace it.... sigh....

Anyhow, I'm thinking of getting a replacement for the boot. I dont think I'll get it very soon, probably will get it next year, waiting the boots' prices drop. :P

I'm considering these 2 boots.

Adidas Predator Absolute Gold/Black.

Nike Air Legend Grey/Black.

Trial exam result

Here's my overall trial exam's result. Mmm... it seems that the gov's standard are set lower than the school's standard, and the grades are mess up abit due to the double standard for our result.

I sitl have to fix my Add Math badly, realy.... the lowest mark of all the subjects. As for Moral, I dont bother it, let it be, do or die.
I just hope that I can get A for the 3 science subjects in the end.

Update: Geo scored 66, grade 3B in school, 2A in gov standard.

Masterpiece

Few weeks ago I had my English essay test, and now I got back the paper. Scored 78/85, not a bad result I guess. So here it is, my so-called masterpiece. :P
* This article might be very long, read it at your like, skip it if you cant take it.

---------------------------

Title: Peace

Ever since the rist of nations at the early 20th century, the world has faced many wars, from the earliest WWI, to the latest Iraq invasion. Through out the century, the world hardly had a long period of peaceful environment. There has been warmonger nations asking for troubles and tried to breach the peacefullness in this world.

Take a look at the world, there is some places where you can see continuous gunfight everyday. For example, in the Middle East, where the eternal rivalries between Palestine and Israel will never stop. The Sept 11 terror attack in New York triggered another wave of attacks by the Americans, to invade Afghanistan and Iraq in the name of "counter-terrorist". This action causes war weariness all over the world.

Everyday reading the newspaper, there must be reports of injuries and fatalities causes by the war. The war has wasted many precious lifes and money for an unclear objective. Many innocent people have been dragged into the war and ruin their whole live. It is wiser to spend all the lives and money to help a poor country or improve the world, rather than spending everything in the military budget for more firearms and ammunations.

Of course, there are many nations who appose the wars, and this is supported by the governing organisation of the world, the UN. For the past few decades, the UN has played the role as peacemaker between the conflict of nations, but recently the role as peacemaker is going downhill. Although the UN had stated strong objection for the war, but there is still some parties would have just ignored the UN's order. The UN are helpless, and so do the other peace-loving countries.

Many people hope and wish the war could come to an end, replacing the war with peace. But the fact is the world have to be prepared for the worst. Some said, the World War III could happen anytime and some said it is starting right now. There is no suprise if a nation is capable to deploy nuclear weapon in the war. It is a lethal weapon and the aftermath of the weapon is beyond imagination.
Another concern of the war is about the biological weapon, which can severely injured or kill any humanbeing across the path of the weapon. If these weapons really being used in the war, then it is impossible for the world to live in peace again.

Peacefulness is a very important aspect in every nation. When the world are in peace, nations help and support each other, everything is running smoothly. The people are happy because peace can bring on the economy and they can enjoy a better life. Peace is neither for an individual nor a nation, it is for the world, for mankind.

We humanbeings might consider ourselves living in modern age with the cutting edge technologies, but sometimes our behaviour and actions can be compared to the prehistoric barbarians, when it comes to war.
As a citizen of the world, what we all asked for is peace, please stop the war!

--------------END--------------

Yay!! Masterpiece done!! :D
Hmm.... I realized that my writings are somehow influenced by games.... Well after playing so many war games for years, I've lots to write about my point when it comes to peace and war. Heh.

If you've any comments about this article, please feel free to write about it, let it be critics or praises. :)

Education System's Pandemonium

I just came across a truly "WTF" website, it's a site for students to hook for exam tips, mainly the 3 gov exams, UPSR, PMR and SPM.

Andrew Choo

Maybe some of you heard, or know who's this guy. Few moments ago I didnt know who the hell is this until I found the link via Googling.

His site promotes so call 100% accuracy tips for the exams. As what I can see they're boasting everything like any other scam sites you can find on the net.

One of the services they're providing is sending out the exam tips via express mail to students all over Malaysia, with an ammount of money which increases when the exam's getting closer. It used to charge RM40 for 6 subjects, but now increased to RM 80. Sheez, this makes it look more like a scam site, but unfortunately this guy is doing it like an online business.

I felt pity for those who felt into his trap of getting money in this easy way, how can you be so sure when you throw your money to an unknown to get few pieces of papers and you're still uncertain whether you can really trust on the tips given there? Now tell me, are you so sure you really see those questions in the REAL EXAM PAPER? I know Andrew Choo will definitely says it'll be 100% accurate, my ass!

Giving tips out like this is like playing a cheat in a fair game. All students across Malaysia studied for 11 years(6+5) to sit for this paper, and yet some people are going the easy way by relying on tips. I've learnt my lesson not to rely on tips 100%, but too bad not everyone knew the risk of believing the tips given. I'd like to see how those people react when they learnt that none of the tips are accurate!

On the other hand, the tips might be true, but I cannot accept it's 100% same as the questions in the real exam paper. There's strict regulations for officials to handle the exam papers. You see, the papers are private and confidential, unauthorized personnel is not allow to touch it.

I've heard from many teachers, let it be tuition or school teachers, that for anyone that would leak out the exam papers will be held and detain by the authorities with the crime of leaking top secret documents to the public. These stories sounds fake, but I think it's making sense.
After all, it's very immoral to spread out secrets, isnt it?

As a student, I'm concern about qualities of the education system in Malaysia. Exams, especially major exams are meant to be a method to evaluate a person's level, but things are going towards the wrong direction with some parties trying to exploit the system.
For everyone's sake, earn money with some other method will'ya?

I'm unsatisfied with the scam websites there. Whether you believe it or not, I've to warn you that dont fall into the trap.
DO NOT BELIEVE IN TIPS 100%!!

Pre-SPM Evaluation

I think it's important for me to make it clear with the subjects I'll took for SPM in 1 month time.
OK, I took 12 subjects for SPM, with an additional subject, Geography. Some people in the school are taking 1 or 2 extra subjects.

Evaluation for subjects.....

  • Bahasa Melayu
Basically, I dont think I'll have much problem to deal with this paper. BM might be the weakest subject for me of all 3 languages, but I'm pretty sure I'll either get A or B, depends. :D

  • English
My best subject I guess. It's an A for me if there's not much obstacle. :)

  • Chinese
This paper's standard is higher than the previous 2 subjects, it's a tricky and demanding paper for students, the marking scheme is very strict, my trial result for Chinese didnt score very well because of this! I think I can get B for this, with luck maybe A, or something goes wrong maybe C.
    A, B, C, 1, 2, 3!

  • EST
This paper might be easier than English itself, another A~

  • Modern Math
It's an easy paper, if I didnt make any much mistakes. A isnt a problem. ;)

  • History
Many people dislike this subject, saying it's boring or so. I find it kinda interesting to study, although some facts are false(Chinese & Indian pioneers are excluded in the book, replaced by Malay leaders). Hmm.... B? A? C? I dunno, either 3 of 'em.

  • Moral
As you can see, this is the worst subject in my opinion. It is useless, this paper cant prove that you're a person with moral even with full marks. Sheez, 36 fixed moral values to memorise, really is a damned subject. Hmm.... no A for this subject, I'm quite sure.
    I repeat, this subject sucks!

  • Add Math
I'm 50% about this paper, the gov's paper doesnt look easy than other subjects, they always ask questions in another method, but same concept. This paper is full of traps, any mistakes could lead to devastating result. If I'm lucky, maybe a B, or C..... sigh....

  • Chemistry
My favourite subject of all 3 science subjects. Heh, I think I can get at least B for this, or A. :)

  • Biology
Another favourite, many say this subject is hard, but I find it's interesting to study this. Hopefully can get at least a B.

  • Physics
This time things are going off my way. I've problems to understand some of the concepts, and the keywords, which are important. Hmm..... C? :S

  • Geography
Shouldnt be a problem to score A, except if the bitch's disturbing me. She's helping us to fail instead of getting a better result. What kind of freaky teacher is this? <_<

  • C6 ≤ ? ≤ A1
  • ? = probabilities for my result.
  • Mooncake Festival

(original post, but I really had problem to continue write in Chinese. :S)

    * A late update from the Mooncake Festival party I went few days back, I'm too tired to write anything for these few days because of having insufficient rest.

On Wednesday night, I msg friends like crazy asking who's going to the Mooncakse Fest party on Thursday evening, luckily quite a number of them will be joining the party, so I do not feel alone over there.

Thursday after tuition, had a light dinner with KY, and then later join my other friends at KFC for 2nd round dinner. I've 2 KFC discount coupons, used 'em up!

The party starts at 7.30pm, but we reach there around 7.45pm. All the goodie bags are finish distributed, crowded. Some other friends join in with us. Because there's too many friends there, I cant list 'em out one by one.

I'm trying my luck to find some familiar faces there, let it be my currecnt or ex schoolmate. Well, I knew some of my old friends are there but didnt meet up with them because I dont have their phone number, and it's too crowded to find 1 or 2 person out of 1000+ people!

We do enjoy the show, eventhough we've to stand behind the seated crowd. Heh, at this situation, being taller than the rest is an advantage I guess. :P

I regretted that I didnt bring my camera to take any photos because I thought it would be too dark to take any photos, but the light conditions are fine to take photos. Sheez....

No photos, so I steal it from others to post it up here.

P/S: One of my friend, Frankie who are with us wrote something bout the party too.

Today had a great day having fun with friends in a Mooncake Festival(中秋晚会) party. Right now I'm exhausted to continue write the post, it's 12am and tomorrow stil got football game to go on.

For strangers, I might look very serious and quiet, but when you get to know me better, I'm different than the first time you met me!

Tuesday morning recovered a little, but still not 100% OK. Dont have the mood to goto tuition under this condition, it will get worsen if I go out. Stay at home rest better.....

    SPM issue 1 - Chemistry and +Math

Today attended the last SPM seminar for Chemistry and +Math. It's kinda earlier than any other tuition centre out there. Many students are attending the seminars to get the "leaked" questions like they got for their trial, well this time things are more serious then.

Remember, trial exam can be leaked easily because the security measurement isnt that tight, no one will be charged for leaked questions. Many tuition centre boasting they have the questions for the SPM on Nov, but the fact is, that is just one of the business tricks tuition centre are doing.

I, just like everyone else, are tempted by the so-call leaked tips. But then I learn that I cant rely 100% on the tips, it is dangerous. For trial, it's stil acceptable but for the REAL SPM, that's not a game.

Right, back to the main topic. Chemistry and Add Math, I like both subjects, but my result for both subjects arent satisfying.

Let's talk about Chemistry. Hmm... this year's hot topic would be:

  • Electrochemistry chapter(electrolysis + chem cell) mix with redox reaction(oxidation & reduction)
  • Difference of ionic and covalen structure.
  • Alcohol to other carbon compounds(alkene, carboxilic acid & ester).
  • Soluble and unsoluble salt preparation.
  • Periodic Table Group 1 & 17.
  • Glass & ceramic.
  • Exothermic heat(neutralization & burning).
  • Soap(saponification) & detergent.

These are the important topics I recieved today. Of course there's stil some other possible questions out there, because the tips can only be taken as 30% of the real SPM paper.

As for Add Math, although the topics are limited to the few subjects, but all of them can be questioned in a very different style than the normal questions we did in the exercises.

To be honest, I'm not good in complicated calculus(derivatie especially), quadratic equations, vector and so on. Sometimes I can do but sometimes I've terrible time to deal with it.

But then, my +Math isnt too bad after all. My better topics in +Math would be logarithm, trigonometry & linear equation.

The trial exam's +Math is hard, I hope the real SPM paper wouldnt be too tough for me, at least, I can get a B for it. :)

My year is the last year where all the science subjects and math subjects are thought in Malay, my juniors are learning all these in Eng now. If really desperate want to understand these info, translate it into any readable language at your own choice.

P/S: The info above are based on the seminar I attented, but doesnt mean it will come out for sure in the real exam. I repeat, these tips serve as 30% for the entire paper. The rest 70% will have to rely on our own....

Btw this is post no. 899 for this blog, 1 more to 900, and another 101 to the 1000th post of this entire blog. :D
  • 1 week holiday

The F3s are having their exam(PMR) for the entire week, so we F5s are given 1 week break to relax and revise a little, for the last one and a half month.

Hmm.... Ms Lee asked us to return to school for extra Geo class. This time I decided NOT TO attend the class, no matter how the beatch reacts. I had enough of her and decided not to give her "face". I'm confident to score an A for Geo without her guidance. I think I could be even worse if I'm under her teaching, more stressful, more pressure for me and in the end affected my other studies.

Anyway, I'm thinking that the REAL SPM isnt that freaky after all. It's just 11 days for me and then I can be free from anything for a period of time.

Lastly, wish all of my F3 juniors can score well in their PMR, heh, it's not that hard really. :P
