So in the first part I've wrote about some oldie's songs, now this post will be focusing on modern songs that I like.
1. 孙楠 韩红 “美丽的神话” / "Endless Love" by Sun Nan & Han Hong.
A love song duet sang by 2 famous China mainland artists, Sun Nan & Han Hong. This song is from Jackie Chan's movie "The Myth". The MV shows a few scenes from the movie so you basically figured out what kind of movie is it. I never manage to watch this movie completely because it's usually aired on the local TV channels at odd timings, especially during the Chinese New Year festivals where we're most likely to travel around instead of sitting at home watching the junkbox.
2. 张栋梁 “当你孤单你会想起谁” / "Whom you'll think of when you're lonely?" by Nicholas Teo
Nicholas Teo is the local star arise to fame through a reality talent show few years back. This is probably one of his most well-known song to date. It's usually used for motivational camps or so, at least to my experience.
Actually I'm not sure whether this song is meant for a couple, or friends. Loneliness, that's something I wanna get rid of!
3. 周杰伦 “菊花台” / "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed" by Jay Chou
I think this is one of the best song Jay Chou ever sang. This song suits Jay's singing style the most, and thankfully his pronounciation is OK in this song. A rather sad song, but the lyric is good.
It is the theme song for the movie "Curse of the Golden Flowers", which Jay himself involved in the movie too.
4. 周杰伦 “霍元甲” / "Fearless" by Jay Chou
Some may argue this song is bad, but I love it!
A strong oriental influence in this song, better known as Jay's "Oriental Wind" style. Kinda bombastic lyrics, but it goes well with the song and the MV. This is the theme song of the movie "Fearless" starred by Jet Li.
5. 群星 “北京欢迎你” / "Beijing Welcomes You" by various artists
A recent song, sang by various Chinese artists across the region. It is good to see fellow Chinese artists united together to sing a song for the Beijing Olympics 2008, welcoming people from all over the world to join the Olympic Games.
The title is also the names for the Beijing Olympic mascots, the Fuwa.
If you have some Chinese songs you'd like to share, please feel free to share it together. :)
