So far I've been to quite many places around my new territory but there're still places that fascinate me due to it's unexpected, surprising nature, like this forest park, Musashino Fureai Forest Park (武蔵野ふれあいの森) I've discovered yesterday.
It's located not that far away from my place, as I'll passby a nearby road everyday commuting to the university. Since it's holiday so I've more time to explore the place better, covering further distances.
The map of the park. Might appears to be small but it's actually far larger than I first thought.
Welcoming green path!
Wooden bench, where I paused awhile and had my lunch.
Seems like this is a secondary forest, where the trees will harvested, made into timber when its matured. Then the new trees will grow again.
Lunch: A soda drink, McD's McChicken and karaage (Japanese friend chicken).
As usual the bicycle accompanies me almost everywhere I go nowadays.
Panoramic shot in the forest.
There're these signboards placed to guide people as it's easy to get lost in the forest!
Forest paths.
Growing up in Malaysia which is surrounded by rainforests, it's quite natural that I'm fond of the green nature.
I like how the sun ray shines through.
I wonder whether you can notice the crossroad lies ahead in the pic?
Another checkpoint.
Self-timer shot!
The never-ending pathway. Anyway it's a good walking spot for folks, especially the elders.
If you're sharp enough, you may have noticed that the trees aren't that big and closely-packed like in normal forest, as after all this forest park is semi-artificial (planned-planting).
Tease your eyes again. Which one looks better?
Taken from the same angle but the final products are rather different. The top was taken under Auto mode while the bottom was taken under Program mode (manual) with White Balance set to "Daylight" and vivid colour mode.
Another junction. Turn right or go straight ahead?
The forest canopy is wide enough to cover the afternoon sunshine which makes it a cooling place.
Care to join me for a break here?
Or perhaps picnic here?
Another panoramic.
This is interesting, a forkroad which separates into 2 ways. Just like in life, at times where we're to choose to go left or right.
I was happy with this great discovery of the day. To be able to enjoy the nature closely is one of the best thing in Saitama I've experienced so far. Back in Tokyo one of the forest parks I know is near Meiji Jingu (明治神宮) but turning your head around you'll still see traces of the big city.
To have discovered this great forest park and the beautiful riverbank around my area, I'm happy to be here! :D
