Another day of exploration in the new territory~ This time is towards the southern city of Fujimino (ふじみ野市) which is close to my university campus.
Went out just before noon, trying to figure out which route is the fastest to the main road, the National Route 254 (国道254号).
Here's the river just beside the hostel, called Furoukawa (不老川) which means "ageless river" hah.
Stop-by a nearby 100 yen shop to check out what loots I can get there. Everything in the shop sells for 100 yen (105 yen with tax) and it's one of the best shopping place in Japan!
Some photos I took moving towards the university's direction.
Carnival Buffet. 1100 yen for lunch or 1500 yen for dinner.
A 100 yen sushi restaurant! I'm definitely coming here to try it out someday!
Another sushi shop but I reckon this one would cost more.
BBQ Meat!
SATY is a large shopping mall run by AEON company (which also runs Jusco). There's a movie theatre on the top floor too.
First I settle down at the park next to the shopping mall to had my lunch.
Sushi set, salad and fried chicken.
The signboard asking folks not to feed the birds as the poo might be harmful to our health. Seems like the bird totally ignored the signboard heh.
These Totoro goods would be great souvenirs for sisters as they love Ghibli's movies as well.
After shopped for something there headed back on the road to continue the exploration journey.
This Pizza Hut shop is rather different than the usual fast-food chain as this it comes in buffet without time limit (very rare as most buffet would limit 60~90 mins only). It's quite expensive as it's from 1580 yen onwards.
I guess I don't need to further elaborate what's the game.
While figuring how to get back to the hostel's direction, bump into this nice playground with a few blooming trees.
So far just 2 out of many trees started to bloom, but I'm sure few more weeks later this place would be superb!
Nowadays it isn't unusual to see a few trees blooming with sakura.
The much redder variety, too bad couldn't get proper macro focus here.
The much popular pink variety.
It's a great place for the mother and child to spend some time together in the playground.
Kids love this place too!
Steel-built slides, and I believe this was built decades back as I used to play similar slides before hahah!
Noticed that nowadays modern playgrounds started to use the more colourful and lighter plastic? Perhaps steel is a little too expensive for playgrounds eh?
Rock slide!
Lonely bridge accompanied by balding trees. Just wait a few more weeks and you will see the true colours.
Another playground located a little upper hill.
Located this interesting slide which is quite long.
Me trying out the slide, heh. I keep on complain my butt hurts well of course, the slide isn't meant for me! :P

The slide loop!
Experimenting this photo, turn it from a dull photo to a pseudo-HDR shot!
Another try.
2 similar pics, one with and another without touch up.
A few technical notes to share here.
As you may have noticed, the natural lighting condition wasn't that good as today's kinda cloudy. I did the photo edits using Picnik which is built-in into Flickr. No softwares are required in order to do it. :)
OK back to the explore journal.
Now this is what I call triple-parking! As in 3-story parking! Anyway I wonder how to get the car on top down eh?
Mansions (in Japan it's common that "mansion" is referring to apartments).
Asahi bicycle shop.
The main road will be closed when there's something BIG happening....
Kawagoe City, where I'm based at right now.
So these are today's shopping loots. Bath towel, hooks and a tray got from the 100 yen shop. The black mat was bought at SATY.
Well then, that's all for today's update. :)
Liked the HDR photos which make the feeling like some scenes from Games. ^^
ReplyDeleteI didn't have Pizza Hut for ages...
currently still very fresh in HDR! :)
ReplyDeletehahah one day go eat together? lol
