Latest pics of Mercurial Vapor IV.
(click for larger pics)

This looks better from previous pics. Rumour says that this boot is made up of carbon-fibre, thus making this boots extremely light, even lighter than current Puma V1.06.

UPDATE:

According to this source, this boots will be named as Mercurial SL instead of Mercurial Vapor IV. It will be made available in this coming December.

The lightweight is the main highlight for this boots, weighing just 190g, a little lighter than Puma V1.06.

This boots will run on limited edition basis, which only 2000 pairs will be produced. Note that this boots will cost you £400(~USD 830).

Soon we will see Drogba & C Ronaldo try out this new boots!

Teenagers from my PoV (Part II)

So previously I've wrote bout Part I, which features my views on Chinese teenagers. Now in this Part II I shall talk about teenagers from other races, as what I observed.

The account will starts from Malay teens.

Type #5: Time-wasters lepak-king.

If you've noticed too, this type of teen likes hang out with friends for leisure, loitering around public places like shopping malls, parks, shoplets with more than 1 friend accompany them.

So what they do at places like that? They do nothing basically. From what I observed, they talk nonsense among themselves, oogle at pass-by girls, practise shuffling(a kind of dance), bearing unapropriate behaviour in the public.

One thing I noticed this type of teens have in common:
  • Wear a cap awkwardly
  • Ornaments & accessories dangling about, say, pendants, rings, etc.
  • Love to show off those branded stuffs they wear like shoes, shirts or pants.
  • Hair colour may differ from it's original colour scheme (read: dyed)
  • Also, like to make weird and funny hairstyles, eg: mohawk, afro, etc.
  • Smokers, regardless of their age (mostly underage).
  • Commonly speaks a variance of Bahasa Melayu (Malay language), which sounds different from the original Bahasa Melayu. It consists of short-forms & dialects from the original BM. The words also being simplified.

  • Personally, I shun this type of people. At times they are known as trouble-makers, so it's better to keep out of sight from them than engaging with each other. Their unpredictable behaviour is a headache for the public. Also, it's been reported a partial of criminal activities are carried out by this group of people, ranging from illegal racing to sexual assault, triggers the public safety alarm.

    I wonder on what mentality they think it is good to spend time doing useless things like that. I see things in a Chinese way, so in my mind I knew that time is something you cant retrieve once it passed, so I'll try to find beneficial things to do when I've free time. But for them, time doesnt seems to be bothering them.

    They goto school just like the #2 in the Part I, doing nothing but socialising. Occasionally they'll have brawl with others just because a very simple & neglectable matter that can be solved by 'negotiation'. Or perhaps, they do this because of egoness & pride. Awek, means chicks seems to be the most important thing they can came into their mind.

    I get to know more about this type of people through out my experience in NS. Well, many of them have this sort of background. Because in NS we all wears uniform, cut the same hairstyle, so it is not easy to distinguish them from the group. They told me stories bout their lives living in that way. Some of them even have criminal records too.

    No matter how bad I trash 'em just now, one thing I'd like to stress out is that, they are still human-beings like us, so it is possible to befriend them. Just like type #2, once you get to know them, they can be very good friends. For them, friends are more important than family, so they'll do whatever they can to help their friends out of trouble. By this means settling things in a soft manner or a bold manner, as long as it can achieve their purpose.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Type #6: Polite, Friendly and Courteous
    Now this group of people is a big contrast compare to type #5, is almost opposite than type #5.
    They have a lot of good traits in themselves, which makes many people to like them.
    They speak in a very polite manner, respectful to the elders, friendly to their peers. They might have traits from type #1 , but they've been modest most of the time. Like a Malay proverb said, diam-diam ubi. If you might have guessed, they are very hardworking type.
    I noticed that this group have a solid religion ties in them, compare to #5 whom do not even bother the time to do prayers. This type #6 will not miss a single time for prayers.
    This group of people, I see nothing bad bout them. Not that I trying to talk bad bout others, but I think they virtually done nothing bad at all. They're just bunch of nice, polite people, whom are comfortable to befriend with everyone.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I've finished my accounts on Malay teens, so now is the Indians' turn.

    Type #7: Cheerful and friendly lads

    I'm a ashamed to say that I've a handful of Indian friends. This makes my account for their race a limited view. Anyway, from all those I've knew, they are actually very friendly and cheerful lads, now that's for sure.
    In college I've Indian friends whom I usually play football with. At first we kept distance from each others, but it is easy to break that invisible communication barrier.

    They seems like to joke around among themselves or sometimes throw in a laughter bomb in the lectures, which greatly contribute to ease off the tension of studying.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [ This is a partially completed post, i still have the conclusion to write. Now writing from college, and it is about time I went for the next lesson! ]
    Writing these 2 posts is just a 2 cents of mine. I've to make it clear that I am not a racist. I did not have the intention to stir up any sort of problems here. I just write out what I've seen and heard from time to time. I know, the truth hurts, and you cannot escape from it.
    I think teenagers nowadays are having a better and comfortable life compared to the pass generations. Some teenagers have no clue how to get things done because all the while someone's there to assist them with task given.
    Life after teenager's life isn't as smooth as it use to be. To prepare for the real world, one must have a very strong mentality to cope with all the pressure and stress while getting used to life after school. I for one, found myself struggling at times after having SPM, and once in awhile I've doubts on my college life.
    No matter what's your type as I mentioned above, #1 to #7, things can be changed as time passes. It is up to the individual to decide whether he or she needs a change in mentality or physically.
    Of course, I'll be glad to hear few words from readers. :)
    Teenagers from my PoV (Part I)
    * PoV = point of view
    I'm in late teenage now, so before I can be "promoted" to an adult, I'd like to note down some of my observations on what teenagers nowadays look like. In other words, classified them.
    For this Part I, I will write about Chinese teens as what I observed. Since I came from a Chinese background environment, so I can give more accurate description for this category. Shall I start then?
    Type #1: Intellect & Co-cu Activist
    This type of teenagers spend most of their times either in school or tuition centres. They mainly focus on their studies as well as co-curricular activities, which means organising & participating activities for societies, clubs or unions.
    Typical teens in this category doesn't really care too much bout latest fashion trend, though there's a few exceptions.
    They wear pretty neat and smart, nothing too flashy or so. Usually wear spectacles(due to reading in low light condition, or too many radiations from TV or monitor screen). They can be seen holding books at times, especially before exam periods.
    S2 & S3 monitors
    Me and Chuan Boon. Both of us are under this category.
    Me & S2 "queens"
    Me with Cat, Karen & Irene. Ask any of theirs name to any teachers and the teachers will instantly recognise them. Why? Because they excels in academic & co-cu!
    Basically they are quite reputable by teachers and schools, as their participation in co-cu activities usually caught a few teacher's attention. Of course, teachers would spot out those who score well in the exam, and this type #1 teen is been good in scoring good marks.
    On the downside, some of them might have a little problem to get along with others. They might have some sort of communication problem with people, but that is just a few of them. Also, they might look down at others, especially those in type #2(which I'll touch on later), whom focus more on social life rather then studies.
    I, myself falls under this category so I know this the best. Sometimes I've problems to get along with people who doesn't really bother bout their result at all. I need some time to sort things out with them. I cannot understand why they came to school not for the purpose to study, just to waste time fooling around doing useless things, ignoring teacher's presence in the class.
    Once I get to know more bout their personality, I no longer have any problem to deal with them. In fact, I realised that although they're ignorant in terms of studies, but there's something we in type #1 should learn from people like them....
    P/S: Nerds, bookworms, whatever way you call 'em, can be considered to be in this category too, except they dont really bother bout co-cu at all. Their life is just for studies, all the way.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Type #2: Social Gangs

    They can be referred as ah bengs & ah lians. They see socialising with others more important than studies in school. For this type of people, they usually gang up together, moving along and do things together, thus forming gangs, and we refer them as 'gangsters'.

    One of their most distinctive feature is that many teachers have problems to deal with them in the class. This type of students usually are the regulars to be referred to the disciplinary authorities. Teachers think that to have students like this in the class is a kind of distraction, so teachers usually are annoyed with them. Also I'd like to mention that not all teachers look down at them, through out my school life I've seen a few teachers actually care for this kind of students, and also help them to get back on study track. This kind of teachers are getting rarer nowadays, so if you happen to met one, appreciate this opportunity!

    Talk about their physical appearances, they usually turns up with latest styles & fancy fashions.
    Also to take note, the way girls make themselves up, sometimes I think can freak me out(taste differs from individuals right?). Also, the guys would like to had ear-piercing too(I am close-minded for this). Other than that, I think more than 50% of them dyed their hair.

    Examples I can get so far.... Some of them are from my old school while the rest of them, I dunno who they are.

    After talk so many bad things bout them (sorry), I'd like to remind readers that they are actually very friendly and nice when you get to know more bout them. During my later life in school, I get to know a bunch of them whom I usually play Friday football with them.
    Sometimes when talking with them, I get to know things that I dunno, there's something to be learn from them, really. Some referred them as street-wise kids.

    They maybe annoyed teachers, but they like to help teachers out with chores like moving hardwares, collect things and so on. They like to get out from the classroom do something else(than reading) and not get scolded by the teacher. This made them a very good helper.

    One important lesson I learn from them is that do not judge a person by the academic results. One must be seen things thoroughly before making any judgment.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Type #3: The Neutrals
    In my opinion, this group of people falls in between type #1 and #2. They stands by themselves, sometimes becoming mediator when #1 and #2 having conflicts.
    They are a group of students who's been very hardworking to get good results but in the end things doesn't look too good for them. I've know some of these people who're been working very very hard in the class, pay absolute attention when teacher teaching, yet something goes wrong with their methods and the result, *ahem*.
    For this group of people, they've my respect and sympathy. It they've any problems dealing with homeworks I'll be glad to help them out. Btw, in F5 the classmate sitting beside me falls under this category. I think it is rude to name the classmate here. By teaching him homeworks, also revise myself at the same time. Sometimes they know more detail than I do, which the situation changed to become they teach me. Hahah, I've no problems with 'em, just that maybe they're the unlucky ones?
    Classmates
    F5 Classmates
    They dont have any preference over clothing though. They are neutral, so the way they wear differs from the #1 and #2, nothing too flashy.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Type #4: English-speakers

    This type of people rarely exist in my school. They hails from well-being family, staying in higher-end residential somewhere near PJ or Bangsar. Some of them understand Mandarin but some of they dont. Sometimes this creates a barrier of communication between English-speakers and Mandarin-speakers.

    One thing I noticed bout them is that there's a lot of them believe in Christ. I dont have problems with religion stuffs, just this is also part of my observations.
    Uunfortunately, some of them are arrogant & spoiled-brat who likes to show off latest gadgets and fashions when they're outside. I think they are the flashiest of all types I note down.

    Well, take off the stereotype spectacles and look at them. Like the #2 type, they're actually very friendly too when you get to know them better. Sometimes having friends like them are good too, but for me I only know a handful of them, so sorry I cannot find anything else to describe them.
    This type of people has sometimes also can be type #1 person too.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    These all are my observation and thoughts on teenagers by far. I shall continue Part II sometime, maybe tomorrow? I know i still have a few posts yet to be completed, but for this one which I've marked as masterpiece, I wont leave it there just like that.
    Coming up topics, teenagers from other races through my PoV.
    Part II
    27 October 2007
    Busy yet satisfying day.
    Reason #1
    Weekend suppose to be sabbath for me, although studying in college but I dont have enough time to rest during weekdays, thanks to the packed time-table I had from 0800 to 1500.
    Earlier this week Yin Wan ask me join her Career Guidance Society's(CGS) DISC Assessment Workshop. Thinking that this weekend I still have some time to spare, so I sign up for the workshop. At the same time I signed up the CGS as well....
    Today went to college a little later than usual, fortunately there's still parking lot in TBR, good omen. I didn't realise the location for the workshop is so well-hidden behind the sports complex, it took me quite awhile to locate the room as I wanders around the sports complex blocks. I rarely set foot at these blocks so getting lost is a very common problem. There is still lots of places to be explored in TARC. ;)
    A little surprise I was the first one to reach there, although it's close to 0900. Nevermind with these details, now let I tell you bout the speaker of the day, Mr Allen See. Didn't heard of him before? I also have no idea bout him 'til today. A very charismatic speaker he is, i think he is good in turning real facts into jokes, convert a dreaded boring topic to be something laughable.
    So what do I score for the DISC assessment? My primary traits are Conscientious & Steadiness, which bears the cautious and patient personality in me. On the other side, I scored low for my Dominance & Influence, which means I'm not the candidate of becoming a leader or a public speaker.
    Quite true the fact is, I've thought of y own traits and through this workshop it strengthen and proved that I'm this type of person.
    Suitable career for me would be writer, educator and researcher, something to do with analytical and mindful trait I bear.
    Attending workshops like this will of course, meet new friends. Sorry cant remember everyone's name there, but yea we had a lot of funs there. Some of the games reminds me of Character Building class I had in NS. Although it's been months since then, the memories of NS life still lurks in my mind once awhile.... somehow I just couldnt forget the experience there.
    The workshop has been a good one, albeit the long time duration. It ends around 1715.... which means I spent half of my entire day for the workshop.
    Anyhow, it's great though, time seems like pass very fast inside there, really.
    This reminds me of Einstein's saying, "when you sit beside a pretty girl, every hour seems to pass like every minute; when you sitting beside a fireplace, every minute seems to pass like every hour." Talk about theory of relativity! :D
    Now, since I'm part of CGS now, I feel that I ought to contribute my effort for the society as well, not just "hang name" take position and do nothing, like those happening in the old school days. Too bad their upcoming event, the Career Fair, I wont be around to help 'em cause the last exam happens at the very week. After that I'm a freelancer so there's the time I can shine my stuff, heheh.
    * More bout DISC Workshop stuff can be referred to this post, and also this one.
    Reason #2
    Sam called me for a mini-gathering today in NZ Curry House around 1930. Well, suppose to have 4 person but Keat Xiung didnt turn up, left only 3 of us, me, Sam & Lei Mun to talk and talk. Now 3 of us studies in different institutions, so stories are to be shared among us. It is nice to gather together with good old friends talk about things happening around.
    We initially ordered a glass of drink, but while we keep on talking we need some liquids to recharge our mouth fluids so extra glasses of drinks pouring in and in! We ended up chatted for 2 and a half hours! Gonna thank Sam for paying my drink and the free ride back home. :)
    I'll ask more friends to gather around like this next time, it's very fun! :D
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Two simple reasons, yet it makes my life more colourful and lively.
    Hah, being young is good.
    年轻真好! ;)

    Google Snail?

    Hmm.... these 2 days I've experienced slow loading time with Google services, even Google homepage itself also loads slowly.

    I rely many things on Google's services, like this Blogger, Youtube, Reader, Bookmarks etc. Slow reaction time means I've to waste some time waiting for the webs to load. For other webpages, it's absolutely normal.

    I cant came out with an explanation why Google, the top Internet leader, will have problems like this. Perhaps they're moving to new server? If that so then I can compromise for all these lags. Oh well.

    Btw, I dont think it has something to do with my net connection. I'm positive on this.

    Update: Seems like everything is back to normal now, glad to see that. :D

    Adidas 'wawa aba'

    Weird name isn't it? This is the name for the ball used for 2008 African Cup of Nations competition.

    Very colourful and striking ball, I think it looks better than the original Teamgeist. :)

    Friends' Blog

    Looking at the blogrolls on the right, I think I should give my friends a lift for promoting their blogs here. Some of them won't bother reading here though, while some faithful ones still come visit my blog often. Anyway, no matter who they are, the exposure should be given equally ain't it?

    "The Reflection", by Yin Wan.
    I got to know her actually through the blog, although we're in the same school. A well-maintained blog, with nice contents to read of, uses classy but easy to understand languages, a worth reading blog. She's currently busy with activities so blog is in semi-hiatus status.

    "iMoney", by Chin Wei.
    Very good friend of mine, whom I've tried to persuade him to get into blogging years ago. He do write blog, but it's only a matter of '3 minute heat'. Now he says he's coming back into business, continue to write on the blog he last touched 2 years ago. Hopefully he'll remain consistent in blogging as long as possible. It's fun!

    "None", by Toh Wai.
    Very talkative classmate, at times I argue with him but mostly he's a very helpful and cheerful guy in school. He's still studying in the old school now, so I somehow get to know a little things bout the old school through his blog. Due to the nature of hectic Form 6 life, he did not blog for over a month. This, I'll have to remind him bout it. I know he's a busy man with studies and societies.

    "HappyGoLucky's Blog" by Haw Jiun.
    Another good old mate from school, same class with Toh Wai. I dunno what kind of nature for his blog, as he writes quite a variety of topics, just like me, a mess up blog! Hahah.... it's a personal blog after all. I do hope he'll keep writing the blog, as he doesn't update it that frequently. Form 6 suppose to end their exams already isn't it?

    "my story" by Theng Tsing.
    A very entertaining schoolmate, started to blog not so long ago. Then again, more updates will make readers happy eh? I somewhat understand life in Taylor's aren't easy either.

    "~~Elegance Yi Thong~~" by Yi Thong.
    Schoolmate since primary. A rather dark and demotivating blog, sorry to say. Why? It's because lots of negative energies circulating in the blog, which can affect the reader's as well. Anyway it's good to see it's updated quite frequently, although the posts are not so "appetizing" sometimes.

    "Primer Blog De Los Kidd" by Da Jun.
    Senior's blog from UUM. It's a well-maintained blog, very entertaining to read, he has a great sense of humour at times. Forgive me I always forget bout this blog most of the times lol. Sorry lar Da Jun! :P

    GP - Family

    Supposedly pass up last week, but I only manage to get it done today. :S

    -------------

    Write out critical analysis on the dynamics of a family in the 21st century.

    A family may be defined specifically as a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, and co-residence. Although the concept of consanguinity originally referred to relations by blood, anthropologists argue that the notion of "blood" must be understood metaphorically; some argue that there are many non-Western societies where family is understood through other concepts rather than "blood". According to sociologists and anthropologists, the primary function of the family is to reproduce society, either biologically, socially, or both.

    When we talk about a family nowadays, questions and arguments arises on the complications of recent family state. In this modern era, things are getting more complicated and complex, because of multi-factors namely lifestyle, mentality, etcetera, the constituent of a family has been corrupted since then. Issues regarding family are something the public have to tackle on, because family forms the basic unit for a community and society. Any damage done to the family will leave its scar to the society too.

    The most common problem regarding family is the high divorce rate. Analysts said that at critical time, the divorce rate is grater than marriage rate. Marriage is not as simple as anyone thought of, even so, couple still chose the path to end the marriage just like that. Of course, there must be something behind for this problem, like people said; wave does not form without breeze. Most frequently reasons used as an excuse for divorce is misunderstood between each other, unfaithfulness by one of the couple(possible both!), less time spending with each other, and so forth. Ironically, couples get together because they do not understand each other; couple breaks up because they understand each other.

    So what happened to a family after the couple divorce? Let us do not forget about the kids too. As we all know, divorce is not a joyful event, it is a painful event. Divorce suppose to be the business for the adults, but during the process the kids, being innocent all the while, are being neglected and possible become victim of abuse. During the conflicting times, parents only think of themselves and the kids are left unattended, though there are exceptional cases to be considered, some parents still care for their children even though they have divorced. No matter what is the outcome, the children will have to cope with the mental stress they experience through the divorcing parents. Such mental stress can later lead to psychological illness to the child, thus inhibiting proper mental growth for the individual.

    The parents themselves will have to go through a series of distressful experience as well upon divorce. One has to spend some time to get use to it the life without the other partner, although they have officially separated. This may be one of the problems faced by either party if the divorce is a result of unwillingness of one party (the divorce may be a forceful one). Life after divorce is pretty much messes up for many of them, while for some it is a completely new start for their life.

    By all means, marriage is the way a family formed, a couple breed and have their offspring, contributing to the human population, creating more educated and capable individuals to continue serve and lead a better community, nation, and the world. By having a harmonious family is an important key to the success of humankind, so please, do not spoil a happy family because of little things that bother you in life by choosing divorce as a way to solve problem. Seek for alternatives, and divorce should not be considered even once, unless the worst has hit.

    The Secret

    a very 'short' post ahead. :)

    "The Secret"
    by Rhonda Byrne

    I think I've been very lucky enough to have came across this great material, which I think is one of the best thing I've came across in my life, so far. So what's all the fuss bout this book or so? I found this material contains many of the essential ideas and concepts to live a life we think of, easier to say, it's the textbook of the lessons of life.

    I first get in touch with this when I was in Australia earlier. Those adults watched the documentary version of "The Secret" in the TV room (separated from living room) while I'm busy playing the computer. Cousin Long did gave me a DVD copy of "The Secret" before I went back to KL, telling me it's a must see. The feedbacks from the adults are good, so when I get back I started to watch it.

    First glimpse of the documentary gives me a rough idea on the possibilities of achieving things that I think of. Well, I did not practise what I learn from the documentary, so the knowledge slowly fades away until the morning lesson with Ms Marilyn last week.

    She asked us to get books for our test, namely "To Kill a Mocking Bird"(which I find it quite dull at the first ten pages) and "Life of Pi". Looking at us low-morale students, she then adds in the other book, which is "The Secret". She said this is the 2nd Bible for her life, and she strongly recommend us to get it. From that, I only remember on this great stuff I've explored earlier.

    Today since I've some time to kill, so instead of playing NFS MW, I spend the time watch the documentary again to refresh myself with the knowledge of life.

    The secret is said to be mastered by famous people who got their names written down in the history book, but they never share it to the public until it was been revealed today.

    Right now, I'm figuring out methods to really practise it, and see whether it works. Some of the basics of starting things is take out all unwanted thoughts and desires in the mind, keep only those you really want. Keep them, and think of possessing or own them as if it's really dream come true. To make it better, try to visualise it, try to feel it, and appreciate it.
    If you do this persistent and consistent, you'll noticed the difference in your life, what you used to thought unreachable is now within your grabs.

    So you ask me now, what I'm going to achieve from things I learn from The Secret? I give you the following list. Do read it if you're free lol!

    Results
    As a student now, the test results is something I really concern about right now. I admit that I did not do really well in the first 2 tests, and the 3rd test is coming up in mid Nov. There's something wrong in my mind when handling things in college than in school, I guess I have yet to adapt the college's learning style after months.
    It lies within myself to take action whether I want to improve my understandings for the things I learn. I know what should I do but I'm too lazy to initiate it at last. A very unhealthy mindset for a student, I should get rid of this before it's too late!

    Why do I care so much of my results? It is because my admission to the university will depend on the result.

    Tertiary education
    What lies ahead of my life, most of it will be answered in the university. 'til now I havent decide where should I go, though initially I thought of going to Australia, but it's not final and I can still change my mind too.
    Recently an anthropologist friend of my father suggest to me try to go for other courses, as he says that studying anthropology ain't that popular in the market. As I mentioned he himself is involved in this field, so he knows this the best. Who else can you refer to, when you've an anthropologist with Ph.D degree answers your question?
    I havent think of any alternatives for now. I might do so during my coming semester holiday (mid Nov til Jan!).
    Alas, the route to university life is a few years to go and it's good to plan things earlier!

    Yanni's new looks

    Yanni.com

    Finally the official website has been updated today! Yay!

    It's been quite awhile since I last heard of his new compositions since 2006's Live Event. Now he's up to something new. You can see what he is up to this time, from the video at the site.

    Although as a fan I'm delighted to get the latest updates, but I express my disappointment and worry. You see, now Yanni is into vocals music, in other words, singers are brought into his music.
    I like Yanni's music for it's instrumental masterpiece, but at the same time I dislike vocals being added into instrumental music. From the songs I heard from the video, someone's singing Italian lyrics for Adagio in C minor, while some ladies singing for the other song. My first impression tells me that this music is turning into pop....

    One thing for sure, is that all these worried and disappointments could be temporary. It is just a sneak-preview for an entirely new stuffs from Yanni, and I should not judge things at first glance. Perhaps I'll change my mind once more stuffs to be revealed in future?
    Yanni is still one of the best composers I ever heard of. :)

    Grandfather's 80th birthday presentation

    Should be one of the best piece of my work so far, but dunno why I felt this video is not perfect.

    Video length: 5:55

    [link]

    A little comment on this work:

    If you've watched my previous work, you'll notice that I repeated the same BGM in the video. I think that the 2 songs there are very suitable for this time's work, especially the 'oriental flavour ' of the songs is just what I need (I'm from a Chinese family so naturally we prefer eastern music).

    I was given a time-frame between 5 to 7 mins for this video, as my relative-in-charge asked me to put as many pics I can into the presentation. He even asked for me to put 1 sec/pic, which I think is out of mind because people cant see things so fast at this rate! I later then switch to 3 sec/pic setting, but then my sis, who's the narrator, told me she needs a little more time to narrate. At the end I set the pics slightly longer, range from 3.8 sec/pic to 5 sec/pic rate.
    The reason why I'm reluctant to change the setting too much is because I want the pics to be synchronise with the background music. Oh well, this time I cant make it happen. :\

    At least I'm pleased people praise the work, and the final video's projection is better than I expected. This is due to the high-quality output I've selected while exporting the video file from Windows Movie Maker. It looks pretty good too on Youtube. Anyhow this video eats up 55MB space in total. Normally I'd just export it in lower-quality in order to save space.

    That's all for the comment on this video. Comments and critics are welcomed, of course. :)

    It's Done

    After celebrating today grandfather's birthday, now my burden has been lift off. The reason why I'm absent these few days on the net, whether it's on MSN or blog, is because I'm totally involve in the preparation for the birthday.

    So what makes me occupied for days? Masterminding the slideshow presentation, setup the background music for the whole event. Sounds easy, but of course things are easier to be said than done. I like to do things like this, so I'll go into the details on by one, which can take quite a lot of time to make it perfect.

    Overall, the event is a big success for us. Many family members are involved, and yea, everyone is glad things are going according to the plan. Finally, we can rest for good.

    As for me, I'll lay down myself for now. It's pretty late now and I definitely need to get a good night sleep. :)

    19 October 2007

    Busy for family's stuffs

    These few days I've spend most of my time at home finishing grandfather's 80th birthday slideshow, which I've finally completed this afternoon. Curse the weather, makes me sick for a day, ruined almost everything! :(

    Apart from the slideshow, I've also finished setting up the background music for the occasion as well.
    I'll post up the presentation slideshow here in few days time. It is definitely another masterpiece!! :)

    After the birthday feast on tomorrow night, I'll be free again for good, hahah. Meanwhile, sisters are going back soon too, so things are back to normal again.

    Define Stupid

    A recent GP essay.

    -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

    Define “stupid”

    “Stupid” is a word we normally use to teases or insults the others. Normally, the poor victim is subject to doing funny, illogical or unusual things that make people around him or her to lash out such comment. Most of the time people would take it as a joke or prank, but for some faint-hearted, the word “stupid” can cause a traumatic damage than you actually ever think of.

    From my point of view, we youngsters take this word carefree, while the adults have a different view for this. For them, telling someone stupid is a very rude gesture. For us youngsters, it is just merely another word from our daily conversations. As you can see, unlike the adults, we do not take it seriously, telling someone is stupid has been part of our life, literally. Of course, no one is happy to be called stupid, so no matter in what kind of circumstances, use this “magic word” carefully, it is a highly offensive “weapon”.

    According to a wise man’s quote, stupid is just a subjective label we give to others, and it is subjective in nature, which means, it highly depends on a person's opinion and seldom it reflects the true nature of another person. Nobody is perfect, as everyone has weakness and flaws. Hence, stupid does not not really exist at all other than a trick of our own bias perception calling others stupid only reflects one’s ignorance in communicating with other people. It is obviously not improving the situation, but it only worsens it.

    It is simply a lose-lose solution, even if it is mean as constructive criticism. Telling others that they have “room for improvement” is a much civilized, positive and nicer alternative to label “stupid” as this gives the listener some hope and he or she would not take it as an insult.

    Therefore, it is best to restrain from using the label stupid, as the people who use such label only show their flaw in their own manners, so what do you think of it?

    Finally, the true meaning of “stupid” refers to the teacher who refuses to give me good marks for this piece of essay. :P

    Kitaro "Matsuri"

    Hereby I introduce to you, Kitaro, the new age Japanese composer. He can be referred as "Yanni from the East', as both of them composes excellent music for all.

    This video features one of the best known Kitaro's pieces, "Matsuri". This song is comparable like "Santorini" by Yanni, which brought global fame to the composers.
    Of course, the nature of this song is different than the lively "Santorini", this "Matsuri" offers a more in depth feelings, something that couldn't be explained by words, perhaps from the inner soul.

    Kitaro himself plays the keyboard/synthesizer as well, but he did involved in the drum set too(Yanni only concentrate on the piano and keyboard). Kitaro is also capable of playing flute too.

    Kitaro will be having a concert in Malaysia soon, at the end of Nov. Details of the concert can be found here. I've asked my father to get tickets for this great event, I wouldn't want to miss this great performance!!

    Busy Outing

    Sisters are back, means we'll be spending more and more time for outside activities than staying at home relaxing. So far went a few lunches and dinners with father's friend, went shop and go to my relative's house to discuss the details for my grandfather's birthday. Today we went almost 6 places non-stop.

    Although it's quite late now, but I still think I need to write something bout it before I've forgotten the details.

    It's been exhausting for everyone, well at least we're "compensate" by the good food we had.

    No further elaboration now, I'm very blank now in my mind, as I'm very tired writing this now.

    Torrential Rain

    These few days KL is experiencing extreme weather. When it's sunny day, it's really hot; when it's rainy day, be prepared for any sorts of flood alert. It is that bad.

    Yesterday went KLIA to fetch CLH, while on the way back downpour accompany us all the way along the Cheras-Seremban highway. The opposite traffic seems to be packed with lots of cars heading back to the south. Cant blame them, it's Raya eve and yet the weather doesn't favour them. Inside the car, I hardly can see what's in front of the windscreen even if the wiper switched to the max. Well luckily after that the rain stop when we're closing in The Mines. Apparently a few places are affected by the terrible weather but other areas are just as dry as usual sunny days. Weird weather we've here.

    Today's weather is as crazy as "usual". Early on it's still shiny blue sky but awhile later it turn out to be cumulonimbus clouds that started to pour the water down to Earth.

    Sis CLH asked me fetch her back from her friends' gathering today at Jln Genting Klang, in the mid of the terrible storm. From my experience, I knew that storms at this rate will cause that road to flood.

    The cars are driving slower than usual of course, because at this magnitude of rain the visibility is very low. The wiper looks useless in this case. When the car go through lower grounds water would splash up. Blame it on the bad sewage system in KL huh....
    Somehow my car was splashed by a mass amount of water, causing me to 'loss visual contact with the outer world' (actually it's just that I cant see anything for few seconds, which can be very dangerous as I dunno what's in front of me. If I break my car then the car from behind might bump into my car butt).

    My car is not a 4WD, and it is an old car with technical problems so I'm worried whether I can make it through this terrible road condition. Thankfully I reached CLH there without any much problems, to my relief.

    I think this is the worst driving experience I had so far.... I'm grateful I did not involved in any sort of trouble or so, I'm still a beginner so I'll try to avoid it at any cost.

    Need For Speed Most Wanted

    Epilogue chase, police head Sgt Cross chasing after the protagonist's BMW M3 GTR.

    A great game to play, though it's getting tougher near the end of the game. Currently hunting on Blacklist #4 JV. Milestone challenges are crazier than before! I used to rack up bounty easily, but not for now when the heat level is too high.

    I know I shouldn't be "driving" when I'm awfully tired, so that's why I kept busted by the cops in the game. Hmm.... heat level 5 police chasing my crazily on my Corvette C6 "Webster custom" and the pursuit last for 20 mins, the best record I ever had. Heat level 5 isn't something fun to play around though, it's much tougher than level 4. I barely survived in heat level 4, so for me to tagging police cars for 20 mins at the higher possible heat level is real excitement!

    The police switches from Pontiac "milk cow" GTO to white Corvette C6 as well, their fastest vehicle for the pursuit so far. I even invited Sgt. Cross involved in the pursuit, though I did not noticed the car actually. He drives a Corvette "Cross-Zebra" C6 as well, so it's a game of Corvette C6s, except that I'm the sole victim without any support while the cops have extra SUVs and choppers to kick in, also not to mention annoying spike strips & road blocks, which is the main reasons why I cannot escape from the cops since heat level 4.

    Webster's Corvette C6, the one I'm driving now. Yea I know it's ugly, I havent tweak the designs after I won the car.

    The Corvette C6 is the latest addition in the car garage. I have #6 Ming's Lamborghini Galladro, #9 Earl's Evo Lancer VIII, and #10 Baron's Porsche Cayman. Of all these cars I think C6 is the best to drive so far, seconded by Lancer Evo. Gallardo and Cayman are nice as wells, but the handling is a little messy which I cant even tune it with the performance stuffs. Well, no car is perfect isn't it? Even the C6 also have problem in the steering as well. I'll see whether Murcielago will have this kind of problem or not, the elder brother of Gallardo.

    I'll try my luck again next time, and I really want to get the way out of the pursuit at least once, to win the milestone bounties....

    Totally Exhausted

    My battery level is critically low right now. I'm dreadfully tired but I still cant settle myself on the bed. My biological clock tells me it's still not the time to sleep eventhough I really need it.
    Hah, this is a very good example when the body system clashes with the brain. They're suppose to be playing their role together, but for this time these organs are not working together, so I'm the victim after all for the "malfunction" of body systems, heh.
    Biological speaking, I am.

    So what drained away all my life? Things can be tracked back this afternoon, after Bio lecture at 1400. Just after Ms Chong finishes the Bio lecture, students are "escaping" from the lecture hall before Applied Maths lecturer Mr Yap turns out. They say he'll be doing boring tutorial stuffs, so better get going with their own activities.

    Today is the last day of school terms before the 4 days Hari Raya holiday. As you can see, many TARC students came from all over Malaysia, so if there's any chance to go back to their hometown, they wouldn't miss it. I pity those who couldn't get their bus ticket back home, because everyone is rushing to balik kampung so obviously one will not likely to get the bus ticks at the last minutes.

    So back to Mr Yap's lecture. He noticed half of the students are gone, so he doesn't have anymore mood to continue the class. I went for the sports game before he "officially" declare "abandon class", hah.

    Today's game is mainly volleyball, though I had spare my own football just in case I'm bored while waiting for classmates. Well, it's sure fun playing volleyball with lots of friends together, although most of us dont really have the basics lol. I only realised how bad I'm playing this compared to the pros, although a little advantage on using heads and kicks lol. Maybe the court is too small for me to execute any ambitious tricks 'eh? After all we're playing in the girl's court, which is lower and narrower according to friends' account.

    The whole game drained 2 hours of my life, and I really enjoy it, albeit the consequence of drinkin' me up.

    Then again, many thanks to auntie Lilian who picked me as the lucky winner for the domain name, I really appreciate it!! :D
    I think I'll get the domain setup done by few days time though. Now I'm still considering what domain name I should put eh?

    Again from College

    A Level students from Jan intake are having their AS exams now, and this week they're having science practicals, so we A Level May intake students' science practicals are cancelled for this week, or maybe next week too. That is why I've so much of free time to blog here, instead of staying inside the chemistry lab having fun mixing chemicals~ :)

    The lessons are getting more and more interesting these days, with the lecturers entertaining students as a part of the teaching progress. Now I felt that the lecturers are becoming jokers instead of tutors. But of course, out of the pranks or so we did learn something out of it.
    I hereby stress out that the quality of lecturers in TARC is as good as those in richie's college, say Taylors or HELP etc. I really love this place! :D

    Now I'd like to mention bout my General Paper lecturer, Ms Marilyn. Man, she is the trigger of laughter! Anything came out from her mouth can make you laugh for the rest of the class. Well, it's hard to really describe how great she is, but if you've the chance to attend her class you'll know what I mean.
    A very intelligent lady she is, very bombastic and yet very informative as well.
    These days in her class we usually discuss bout general topics instead of going with the official syllabus, as she said in A Level GP exam many ideas came from general knowledges instead of what we learn according to the rules.
    We discussed bout stuffs we usually refrain to speak about, a taboo for the society, something like abortion, pre-maritial sex, etc. Those high-sensitive stuffs, she took it as a matter of fact and discuss it all the way. I guess we students aren't well-prepared to be asked for questions like that, so we cant really cooperate with her style so a little responces are voiced out in the classes.

    She gave us an essay today, but she then asked us to pause to discuss bout the issue we're writing on. The topic for the essay? "Define stupidity!" We thought this topic is crazy enough, but she told us she let the other class did a crazier topic, that is: "define the colour blue to a blind person." She really is an unusual lecturer with lots weird ideas, well we really enjoy her class! :)
    Nowdays I really looking forward for Thursday and Friday's classes because there's GP periods!!

    OK now I think I should stop here, writing this post took bout 40 mins to finish off(now's 1255), I still have Bio lecture on 1300 so better get going now. Anyway after the last lecture at 1500 going to have some fun with classmates playing volleyball. :D

    Preparing Grandfather's birthday presentation

    I'm absent from Blogger's world recently to rush for that reason above.

    Well, my grandfather's gonna celebrate his 80th birthday next Saturday(2o Oct), so I'm gonna get things done real soon.

    Need to sort out lots of photos from the early 50s 'til recent pics. Luckily the presentation will last for 5-7 mins(as I previously thought it'll be more than 10 mins), so the video should be just nice like my previous masterpieces.

    I dunno whether I'm allowed to post the vid up here once I'm done with it, due to privacy of my family members. I wouldn't wanna upsets anyone for putting that up, but as the creator for the video I think I've the rights to decide whether to put it up or not.

    Maybe my sisters can give me a hand when they get back? They should be back here by this weekend.

    Talk about my sisters, my father planned a series of lunch and dinner appointments while sisters back here for bout 10 days. He'd promised to bring us for a big feast, so this is the chance to fulfill his promise hahah.

    I might get things updated again when there's something new.
    'til then.

    Sporting Me

    I dunno how and where should I start, but something for sure is that I'm exhausted for playing sports games almost non-stop since yesterday afternoon 'til today noon.

    Yesterday finally can had a Friday game of football after so many replacement classes that used up the Friday 1pm time slot weeks ago. It's been awhile since we classmates last play futsal, so everyone is pretty much looking forward for the game.

    Although it's a 4vs3 handicap match(I'm in the 4 man team), I didn't perform well in the game. I just realised that my shoe's grip didn't work well playing on the tennis turf(the futsal court is a rip-off from the original tennis court). I cant control the ball and kick it nicely because too much grip on the shoe make it difficult to position my foot to kick the ball. Anyhow I still manage to score through a volley, heh.
    Unfortunately, the intense heat forced us to stop the game around 1.30pm.

    So what's next? Some classmates are planning to play volleyball and I decided to join them too. Hah now i've picked up a new sports. I began to like volleyball because of it's flexible rules, allowing players to use any part of the body to hit the ball(well most people prefer use hand), so I can play a fool around using my head or my foot to hit the ball, some silly moves that could caught the opposition off-guard. Still, I'm still a beginner so I cant say myself pro in this game yet.
    I wanna find a day when many classmates can play together, so I can improve my game as well.

    Playing 2 sports under intense heat is craze enough, draining all my energy out. I thought today I can get more sleep but I got my friend's message telling me old school's sports club activity is on.

    So this morning I went back to the school with Theng Tsing to join old friends for some sports games. At first only a few of them turn up, but actually many of them are involved in Cadet Police's activities so they only join us play later on.

    I played football and badminton today. It's been a very long time since the last time I set foot in the school field for a football game. It feels good to be back playing on the field where I really started my football game.

    As for badminton, I'm glad that I still have a little skills playing it, although it's been ages since I last play badminton seriously.

    I think the best offer I can get today is to meet with old friends again, play with them again like we used to play last time. Now I'm studying elsewhere so this is the only chance I can play with 'em again. Hah, time passes in a glimpse, once it's gone you will never retrieve it back again. So treasure and appreciate it before you cant do it again. ;)

    Freedom for Burma

    Free Burma!

    We saw it on the news medias recently, brutal bloodshed make Burma/Myanmar. As we understand this is the largest anti-military government protest ever happened in the history of the military gov so far(correct me if I'm wrong).

    The first wave of protest lead by the sacred monks, and the military gov did not make any move at the moment as they fear offending the monks will cause outrage within the civilians.
    Things went from bad to worse for the military gov as the protest continues and become a large scale protest.
    The military government's patience has reached it's limit, thus deploying armies to oppress the protestants.

    Very unfortunate for the Japanese professional reporter, Kenji Nagai who're being gunned down by the anti-protest troop. He is believed to be disguising himself as an ordinary person who caught in the protest in order to take more up close photos of the protest. Well, that's not his day though. Condolence for his family and Japan.

    The pic shows Mr Kenji's last moment before he dead, still holding the camera in his hand, fulfilling his profession 'til the end of his life, now that's the true professional!

    Besides Mr Kenji's case, it is believed that there's more casualties than the figure reported by the Myanmar gov itself. You know, when things like this happened, the deathtoll usually will be not accurate, and the real figure will be usually higher than reported, that's for sure.
    I dunno how many lives had been taken so far, but killing a person is a serious sin, what about killing more than that? Hmm... I wouldn't think about that.

    First of all, why do they suddenly came out with such protest? It's quite understandable the country's situation, being barred from democratic freedom, as the junta gov took over the governing authorities by brute force after the democratic party's victory in the historical election years ago. I do not know more in depth details bout this, just roughly voice out my thoughts on what is the main reason that causes all this havoc.

    Myanmar is part of the ASEAN country, so what is going on there will affect the other countries in this region as well. Sadly, not many Asean members voice out their objection towards the uncivilised actions by the Burma gov.

    I dunno whether this post will help much or not, I just voice out what do I think about all the situation out there. Malaysia is a peaceful country, so I do not really understand the experience of living in fear..... live a life that's being barred from freedom, that's cruel....

    This song, is from the OST of "Beyond Rangoon". This movie theme is based on the battle for freedom in Myanmar, of course. I didn't watch the movie, thus cant write more stuffs bout that. Btw it's a dated movie though, a mid-90s movie. Try Google or Wikipedia for it if you're interested.
    Do enjoy, Waters of Irrawady....

    Election Showdown

    Got these pics from a forwarded mail.
    I know this is controversial, but some of them speaks out the truth.
    Click for larger pics.

    I know the pics might be disputable, well I'm still a minor so voting stuff have nothing to do with me. This might be as a reference for soon-to-be-voters?

    Anyway I better shun myself out of political conspiracies, hah!
